EXACTLY the kind of video I need to see! 25+ years ago I bought an upholstery sewing machine, figured out how to work it, and did an acceptable job re-upholstering my boat. The boat is now long gone, but I have 17 other cars of my own. I'm just a hobbyist. My friends accuse me of running an indoor junk yard. I need new Jeep seats for my 1986 CJ7. It suddenly dawned on me I still have the upholstery sewing machine. Since I did the boat, there is now YouTube, Ebay, Amazon, etc so I'm learning all there is to know about my sewing machine, and I need to learn how to fix my Jeep seats, which I've been repairing the last few years with pool noodles and duct tape! LOL! So I'm gonna do this right. THANKS for this video and the others like it. You went over a couple of things that I said, "Oh, I remember figuring that out when I did the boat!" I never used glue (didn't know any better). I think I got the foam rubber at Walmart probably. I have learned a LOT and am gonna keep learning from videos like yours! I'm retired, and have no intention of working on anybody ELSE's stuff but it sure will be fun to make my stuff look better!

Technique #1002 (fold it in half) simple but effective, I would never have thought of that 👌

Your technique tips have become a large library, numbering into the multiple thousands. And I’m keeping track of them all 😃

I have a 39 Chevy and the back seat is nothing but springs. It would be cool if you could show how to start with just springs and do a complete reupholster. Thanks. Enjoy your videos 👊

Thank you for sharing your gift with people like me. Today i can't even thread a sewing machine. Before you finish making videos I hope to have learned enough from you to finish some of my own projects.

Love it. It reminds me when I used to watch my Grandfather and Father, Uncle doing auto Upholstery. My brother is still knocking seat covers.

Excellent instructions. Nice and slow, easy to follow. I'm about to embark on reupholstering my 1972 7-seater VW T2 van of which the vinyl covers have pulverised. Cheap white couch real leather available from charity store furniture aplenty. Next step, a heavy duty sewing machine. Your videos inspire me to just go at it.

Really helpful for me! I have an old British car and your MG seat video and this one were great as my seats are a cross between the two. I had my seats sewn at a shop but I installed/ assembled them myself

A tip I learned from wood working was to put my pencil on the mark and move the straight edge to the pencil and it gets your ruler offset perfect, no matter what size pencil or chalk you use
