4 MAJOR Signs Of Schizophrenia

Schizophrenia is a chronic brain disorder that affects less than one percent of the U.S. population.

When schizophrenia is active, symptoms can include delusions, hallucinations, trouble with thinking and concentration, and lack of motivation.

The complexity of schizophrenia may help explain why there are misconceptions about the disease.

Schizophrenia does not mean split personality or multiple-personality. Most people with schizophrenia are not dangerous or violent.

They also are not homeless nor do they live in hospitals. Most people with schizophrenia live with family, in group homes or on their own.

When the disease is active, it can be characterized by episodes in which the patient is unable to distinguish between real and unreal experiences.

As with any illness, the severity, duration and frequency of symptoms can vary.

However, in persons with schizophrenia, the incidence of severe psychotic symptoms often decreases during a patient’s lifetime.

Symptoms fall into several categories.

Positive psychotic symptoms: Hallucinations, such as hearing voices, paranoid delusions and exaggerated or distorted perceptions, beliefs and behaviors.

Negative symptoms:
A loss or a decrease in the ability to initiate plans, speak, express emotion or find pleasure.

Disorganization symptoms:
Confused and disordered thinking and speech, trouble with logical thinking and sometimes bizarre behavior or abnormal movements.

Impaired cognition:
Problems with attention, concentration, memory and declining educational performance.

Symptoms usually first appear in early adulthood.

Men often experience symptoms in their late teens or early 20s and women often first show signs in their 20s and early 30s.

More subtle signs may be present earlier, including troubled relationships, poor school performance and reduced motivation.

Do you suffer from Schizophrenia?

Not sure what it is but I spend a lot of time inside my head and i've noticed both my mother and grandfather do the same. I've been noticing as I get older and especially more recently, that we all make assumptions on reality and other peoples possible actions.. So kinda making up scenarios in our heads i guess. There is difficulty with the progression of the mind, thinking further into things and overall just being kinda slow and in a depressive state. Is this an inherited mental illness, depression, anxiety? I'm on the hunt for answers as I have been mentally suffering and it seems everyone is avoiding the truth.

I remember that in 3rd grade I would always hear my mom screaming my name and I would always get scared. Also when I was is 4th grade I thought that I saw a lady in the bathroom so I used the other bathroom until 5th grade. I think that I can see feel the future because when I play games I always guess when it’s time to attack, and it not fire back. I once had a dream that I saw a green eyeball and I thought it was real until I asked my mom about it one day. Those are some of the things that happened in my life XD Ik crazy

My daddy was schizophrenic. I think he had his first psychotic break on board a U.S. Navy aircraft carrier in 1945 headed for Japan. This was before the bombs were dropped, so I'm sure they thought they were headed for an invasion. My daddy was only 17, so I'm sure the stress contributed to his break. After he'd been missing for three days, somebody found him in some kind of compartment, scared to death. After that, some of the older sailors looked after him. His daddy had owned a meat market, so my daddy was a trained butcher. They gave him a job in the kitchen cutting meat. When he was discharged, he was a petty officer 3rd class, so he overcame a lot of obstacles.

Eu acredito que sofro com uma esquizofrenia moderada. Eu tinha um irmão esquizofrênico e uma irmã epilética. Meu pai e minha mãe eram desequilibrados e narcisistas. Meus outros irmãos apresentavam inúmeros sintomas de doenças mentais. Sempre tive depressão e agora tenho ansiedade e síndrome do pânico. Procuro fazer meditação e yoga, como tratamento natural.

I just wanna let you know that if you have lack of motivation it might be because you’re lazy or don’t have goals as well or anxiety or depression. Love yourselves !
