If you’ve ever wondered whether it’s possible to 3D print a fully functional working model train then this video will answer you question…

This is a sponsored video by Anycubic, they have a brand new large format printer called the Anycubic Photon Mono M5s which I used to complete this project. They have given me a link for you to use to take advantage of the early bird offer they have for the 3D printer:

And to get the Sunlu resin you can check out this link:

Also for those wanting to 3D print their own Comeng EMU train I’ll have the edited STL files available on my website for free, you will also find a link there to the original files by JamosTrainos as well.

I’ll also include the templates and decals for you to print as well.

It would be cool if he had a venue to display all his creations for the public to see in person. Truly works of art. Id have to fly to Australia though, I live in the states.

You're a master of modeling. You not only do top-notch landscaping & architecture, but you also invent and manufacture pieces. Thanks for so many good ideas. Cheers from Spain.

My mum used to work for Connex - she was at the station early in the morning greeting passengers. She has made some great friends that she is still in touch with.

As a fellow train travelling Melbourne teenager of the 90's who knows a little too much about our train systems, the first thing I thought of when you pulled the wheels out was, are they broad-gage or standard-gage, if they are not broad-gage you'll only be travelling from platform one at Spencer St to Sydney oh and you'll need to bring a diesel loco with you. Love seeing Melbourne PT represented, thanks

Ahh this is so nostalgic, and the finished result is absolutely professional.

I remember when these were the 'new' trains as a kid.. finally air conditioning in summer, what luxury!

Its comforting to know that even you, a very calculated and talented modeler experienced the same challenges I have when painting and modeling. The thing is, you know how to respond when things go wrong. Great looking model, and I really like your videos!

I have to tell you, your tips and techniques have helped me teach my kids to all love building models and terrain.

My 13 year old built a scene from the American Revolution that was of museum quality.

Appreciate everything you do.

Keep going ❤

Thank you, Luke!

The key to realism is understanding the correct level of detail for that scale. You nailed this! I have learned to make many things on both my filament and resin printers.

Tinkercad is restrictive yet capable.

Luke that has come up looking awesome! All you need now is the trailer car and other motor car to complete a 3 car Comeng!

This is incredible! I hope one day I'd be able to do this with my own designs, and you absolutely knocked it out of the ballpark.

Amazing job, and keep being awesome! :D

So nice to see a video of yours pop up in my feed again 😊 The models are fine art as always, but I want to appreciate the work you put into editing these videos because you do an excellent job. So easy and fun to watch, but there’s clearly a lot of effort put in to make it so. Thanks for allowing us all to live vicariously through your projects once again, see you in another few months! 😅

Love the models and the videos. Not that I don’t like 3D printing but the older videos where everything was made from scratch hits different.

Superb creation of detail and an explanation of not just what you've done, but why and how. Absolutely expert filming too and could easily be dropped into a documentary or film of that period. Salutations de France

Awesome work, Luke. 3D printing has opened up a world of possibilities when model making. Without it I wouldn’t be able to recreate the iconic Washington Metro stations to go along with my HO scale subway cars.

Just imagine; these HO-scale railcars can be built with camera systems for a forward view on whatever layout they'll run on!
