On November 12, 2001, two months after the events of 9/11, an American Airlines Airbus A300, operating as Flight 587, was on an international passenger flight from JFK Airport in New York to the Dominican Republic, with 251 passengers, and a crew of 9. The A300 taxied to runway 31L behind a Japan Airlines Boeing 747-400, which had taken off minutes before it. The A300 took off at 9:14 AM bound for the Dominican Republic. Minutes after takeoff, however, the vertical stabilizer broke off, and the A300 began to fall and enter a flat spin. Both of the engines eventually separated as well, and the aircraft crashed into a residential area in queens, killing all 260 on board and 5 people on the ground. Because of the location of the crash, and the fact that it occurred two months and one day after 9/11, it brought back fears of another terrorist attack. However, it was later determined by the NTSB that the pilot was poorly trained and used the rudder too much, causing the stabilizer to break off. The crash of Flight 587 remains the second deadliest aviation accident in US History. R.I.P. to those 265 people who died.

Fact: Andre Marshall, a 9/11 survivor survived at the same time a accident on the trade center's parking lot, a explosion detonated in the parking lot and she managed to escape, then 8 years later at exactly September 11 2001, she found out she was pregnant at the day of the incident While being in the north tower, she managed to escape the north tower before it happenned. a few month later she was at home and everything was alright, then this video, American 587 Crashed at her neighbor's house and still. She survived without anything.

My mums friend was on this flight. She was headed to her great grandfathers funeral. It makes me sad that she went to pay respects to her great grandfather only to die bcuz of it 😢

If im correnct, the cause of the crash was Structural failure and separation of vertical stabilizer caused by pilot error leading to loss of control
