My best on this is 315 but it took a long time to get there

hey crazystarf, the zercher is only painful the first few times you do it. Yes bruising is a possibility but I find that it does actually isometrically strengthen some of the muscles around the bicep and elbow joint as well. If you go really heavy, then you can use padding, towels, fat gripz, or elbow wraps. Regardless, its an awesome exercise.

I added in walking backwards while doing this, and it makes a noticeable difference. It cured me of a longstanding flexibility issue where I couldn't lift one leg at a time while lying on my back.

Matt Hastie does the aforementioned with 530 lbs. from the ground up at a body weight of 181 lbs.
