For me the biggest upgrade is having the light. That's major. Writing in the dark is great.

But I'm having a hard time acclimating to this screen. It's textured, far more than the rM2, but I don't know if I can get used to this. I'd be settling because of how great it is to have the light. If the rM2 had a front light, I'd be fine. That screen/marker combo is great.

All that to say, I'm looking for one of those screen covers that add some drag to the writing experience. I miss being able to write lightly without slipping.

Any suggestions?

A common misconception is that it is backlight. It is frontlight.

The color is nice, but the book reading needs to improve, and the lighting needs to improve. 2 years ago, I bought a Boox because of these shortcomings.

Is the calendar automatic and does it sync to an app on your phone? I don’t mean to Google etc I mean to see my actual writing in the calendar

Why are these devices so slow? Even if we are talking about specific technologies being applied in the construction of the hardware, why is the CPU usually less than 2 GHz, making the experience completely meaningless for a device that costs so much? Sometimes it feels like an old Samsung Galaxy and so on.

My comment was deleted it seems, anyway it was harsh.

The idea that bringing in your Kindle library would be a distraction as you say is just bogus. I know that isn't your opinion but why are you buying that bs argument? It has nothing to do with it being a distraction because it isn't.

This thing is kinda cool but im sending mine back. It is way too limited. It supposedly runs linux but you cant access a console nor install anything. Its little more than an ereader but its good just not for me

It's 2024 and E-ink screens are still absolutely useless. I don't understand how people live with how sluggish all of these e-ink devices when you navigate through the UI. I was looking forward to check out an updated remarkable, but a couple of seconds into this video I notice they are still super sluggish. I have a nice boox air 2 plus on my desk, but whenever I want to scribble something down quickly i'm just disappointed by how long it takes to navigate through the menu's. I mean come one, just look at that lag in 01:08, that's terrible.
