*** update I bought this air pump (AIRHEAD AHP-1 Airhead Hand Pump) to air blast the drain tubes and it works perfect

Just spray or pour as much water down the drain tubes as you can then quickly attach the air pump and pump it as fast as you can several times and repeat till the drain tubes are clear.

*** update, I also found that you can access the drain tubes in the trunk. You have to peel the trunk carpet back on the sides and you can access the tubes at the wheel well.

*** another helpful update tip... I haven't tried this yet but I'm sure it will work if water is still leaking where the tubes connect to the roof. Try using ad seen on TV flex seal and spray the connecting part and it will turn into a rubber seal.
You can buy it at your local store or

This is a 2008 - 2012 cadillac cts leaky sunroof coming through the headliner. Save $1-$2,000 in dealership repair costs.

after you fix this leak, the next step is to get the stains out. to do this, take a cotton rag, get it very wet / damp and use some dish soap like dawn. then rub the headliner out with a considerable amount of pressure. after you get the stains out, once it dries you may have to repeat if necessary. with time it will look like new.

Please Rate, subscribe and thumbs up if this helped you!

Good luck and thank you!

Brother, you made my life very simple with your easy explanation. I was able to look at your video literally one time and go out there and do it. FYI I’m the kind a guy who has a hard time changing the tire heck I have a hard time changing my underwear so great explanation'! got it done, not quite in a half an hour but then again with my skill set I was Lucky to get it done at all. GREAT SIMPLE

EXCELLENT! GM should hire this guy! Just saved me over $150. More so, I love my CTS again. PS. WTF is wrong with Cadillac engineers for this lame excuse for a drain hose! Make is bigger and have it drain to outside!!!!

Had mine done 3xs now. Still a small leak. It's that box in middle back of moonroof. Mine was cracked. Epoxy it. Still a little leak. Pissing me off. Have a headliner guy fixing it. Thank God

Helpful video. What I've found works for me is to snake out the four drain tubes with 0.095" weed whacker line. The rear tubes can also be accessed at about their mid-point from within the trunk - one is within the battery compartment and the other you'll need to unscrew about four plastic fasteners and then pull the the trunk liner back a bit to access the other.

I also found that if you peel back the carpet on the sides in the trunk you can get to the drain tubes in the wheel well

Oh Em Gee! Thank you so much for posting this. And I will say, if I can do this, ANYONE can do this! I followed your instructions (of course I had to to go the store first to buy a socket wrench with an extender to be able to get those screws out of the oh shit handles and the spot behind the airbag covers), but wa-la...I was able to get to the drains in the back of the car by dropping the lining. My snapchat followers have never been so impressed. ;) I am just soooo happy to have saved the money because I took it to Cadillac the first time this happened, and was over $2k because it had been leaking so long, they had to even replace the carpet on the floorboard that was molding. Again, thank you so much for posting this! Much appreciated.

Nice video! I'm a Cadillac specialist & apart from clogged drains, I see the front drain hoses leaking where they connect to the rubber tubing on the sunroof. You have to drop the headliner some in front & install some hose clamps on the front drains.
Working on 2010 right now, along with computer issues where I can't communicate with any of the computer on the high speed bus. I'm assuming it was from water intrusion.

thanks for making this video. i came back from a month long vacation to find a pool of water in the back of the car and mold beginning to spread. it was pretty rainy at home while i was away i guess. Aggravating but it looks like a simple enough fix. i hope this is all it is

If you want to save lots of time, use a vacumn cleaner at the end of the drain behind the wheel to unblock it.

To make it a bit easier check the weather out and if u see it's going to rain just put clear tape on the sunroof. Take it off after it rains.👌
