Ableton Live 11 - Take Lanes and Comping

Hi there, is it possible to disable "Take Lanes/ Comping" in Ableton live? It automatically creates hundreds of hidden takes and my projects gets ridiculously huge!, any help would be much appreciated.

There is something I am pressing accidentally in the sessions that is making the take lanes disappear, and when I right click on the channel the option to hide or show take lanes is no longer there! When I copy and paste the vocal track to a new ableton session, I can open the take lanes again, but it seems in that session they have disappeared and I cannot work out how to see them again!

Thanks for your explanations. I was espacially looking for the possibility to edit several tracks at the same time like you can do in logic x by grouping them. And voila: You explained how that works in Ableton. Great!

is it possible to use take lanes and use it to capture multiple layers like vocals and create a group to keep them all? Or do we still have to create separate tracks and layer each take of vocals?

Do I have to use the take on top as the main take lane? I don't see how I designate one take as the main. I tried dragging a bottom take lane to make it the top main take lane, and it didn't work. It fell back down.

All the tutorials I've watched already had the takes. But when im trying to record takes, it's replacing the original audio everytime with my new take instead of sending it to a take lane.

Hi Dr. J. Allen, when you converted your separate audio channels into new lanes and you said its super easy by just dragging things around - could you explain how you converted them as I at the moment it seems I can only create lanes in 11 by recording on audio channels first. Thanks!
