Used this Dolby driver to replace the sh***y Realtek audio (my new Windows 10 laptop, an Asus FX505, kept reinstalling this driver so I had to use the 'update driver' method, with 'driver signature enforcement' being disabled).

Needless to say, I didn't regret that decision - the audio quality has become much better ever since (especially with my earbuds :))

To anyone else struggling with this who cannot get atmos to show up no matter what they do....

If you have multiple HDMI inputs (like one on gpu, one on motherboard), consider just running one HDMI arc cable, and one to your TV. I bet most of us are here because our receiver does not support the resolution / refresh rate of our TV. This solution works for me and is less hassle, does not trip anti-virus, and works with official dolby atmos software from windows store.

I did this but I don’t notice any sound difference when I do anything in home theatre. Even if I literally just turn it off it sounds the exact same

Thank you. Worked just fine. I updated to Windows 10, 1809, and lost my Dolby Home Theatre v4.
seems that I had driver version 7.2.8000.17 and software application expected 7.27000.6, which looks like the previous driver.

I got most of the procedure correct, however, your video pointed me in the right direct. thank you for your video, it was very helpful

Done everything step by step. Did install but doesn't work. The sound is normal and the Dolby opens but is not activated. Lenovo G580.

when installing DolbyHomeTheater I get an error "DHT cannot be installed". my mother MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI .Windows 10 Pro 22H2. I installed it 10 times according to your instructions. There were no problems on my old computer

Works without any problems. I had 3 audio drivers for some reason, updated drivers for realtek and its works fine.

This installed fine on my PC however at 2:01 yours says Speakers (Dolby Home Theatre v4) whereas mine still says Speakers (Realtek(R) Audio).

When I go to Device Manager the Realtek(R) Audio states it is using the value "Dolby Home Theatre" and the audio is definitely enhanced so just seems like the renaming of the speaker has not occured. Many thanks for the video.

Another thing I did change my Realtek(R) Audio and it works flawlessly in my wired headphone but I have a wireless headset and its not connecting to the Dollby Atmos like I cant change the driver on that headset. what should I do?
