Thanks for the great video! Enjoyed what you had to say about layering, as well as mixing effects and whatnot in mono. Makes a lot of sense! Cheers

Delightful presentation, and excellent tips! It's a good reminder to use multiple layers (for pretty much everything nowadays) to achieve the best sound and presence for each instrument.

Very useful tipps, thanks a lot! For Bass, my go-to instruments are u-he Diva, Hive and Trilian for Soundtrack Music, for EDM stuff I love Spire for it's edgy sound.

I like to glide my 808s a lot. To have the low end slide into a kick or snare and hearing the 808 get stretched and/or compressed.

A very informative video, I plan to make a song with drums and basses, as well as some hybrid soundtracks with synthetic basses.

So far Ample Sounds Jazz Bass and P III is the best bass plugin I've came across get that real electric bass sound and their upright bass is the best. I have MODO Bass and Sample Tank 3 and the bass sounds in their library which are good BUT Ample Sound 3 bass plugins sound the best

I like your advice. Bruce Swedien said that we have to keep the lower end tiny if we want music to be transparent. I personally like exCheiron/Max Martin early works type of bass. Re Cheiron, I do not know how they achieved that sound, except that it was SE-1 analog machine.

One of my go to tricks is ducking the kick by sidechaining either a compressor or en EQ or both to the kick and, fast attack and release to leave room for the punch of the kick drum

Brother you should have more views and subscribers. You are really good. Wow.... For me most of the time I have almost the other ways round. My Kick is the King, And the Vocal The Emperor. My bass don't get to be layered just strong enough but never as my Kick. Because for me the upper frequencies got to be ringing shinning.

Sometimes in some portion of a song some bass drop or something could happen. Because many times I find the bigger my bass guitar the less loud I can push the overall volume of the song. Some of my song have normal bass but wild kick not necessarily deep depends on the song.

But there are some types of songs where there is little or no vocal then it's possible to shake the floor with my bass guitar.

It's in my mastering you feel the energy and weight of the bass. But while tracking and mixing I leave room for a little less than huge bass. Don't get me wrong still heavy but not layered. I have never layered bass Kicks sometimes.

But I use my one layer with lots of tricks till it sound extremely loud and in the mastering stage you weight comes in and compete with songs where bass were layered. But mine sounding much clearer and open.
One of my BIG secret. I prefer my bass note heard-just like the traditional bass guitar deep enough to heard and a little felt. But the King is the kick and bass maybe the queen. By My vocals the God.
Nice talking to you. You are a great talent. Like to know you better. I wish you were in Europe we could hang out. Together drink something.
