Farm Gate Privacy Fence

12 ft. Farm Gate privacy fence project. Gate was built with items you can
find at Tractor Supply and Home Depot. I wanted a one piece 12 ft. gate that
work be easy to open. Make sure to see the update video I did on the wheel mounting.

This is perfect! I wanted a very DIY and cheap way to make a 10-foot gate to replace my sagging/collapsing wooden gate as a hold-over until I have money to redo my entire property fence. I found a Wilco/TSC farm gate and thought, what if I reuse the pickets that I already have and attach to it? And lo and behold, you have done it with the same thing in mind!

add a 2x2 or a continuous "stiffener" across the top to keep the tops of the pickets from warping front to back

Thank you very, very much. I am just finishing my wood panel covered fence gate like yours. My is 20 feet and I lift it vertically. Those straps you mentioned were key to my final assembly. Who would have thought the 1½" size would fit so well!

Steve, thanks for uploading this walkthrough. This is almost exactly the setup I am doing also. I came here looking for ideas on gate wheel setups. But was pleasantly surprised to see an uneven driveway, corral gate with pickets and a sprung wheel. VERY helpful stuff here. Going out now to work on mine.

I want to thank you for doing this gate and for making this video especially. I used this video as a guide to build this gate myself. I ordered a shed and my gate opening was too small so I built this. I got the gate from tractor supply, the hooks from lowes and wood from a local store. I cut a picket so the gate will swing both ways as well. I have a few pickets left and tomorrow after work it will be done since dinner was more tempting than finishing. Again, thank you so much for all the work that went into showing us this!

HEY STEVE, A TIP FOR YOU, THE TOP J BOLT SEE IF YOU CAN FLIP IT TO POINT DOWN SO THAT NOBODY CAN PULL UP THE GATE AND TAKE OFF WITH IT, YOU JUST NEVER KNOW THESE DAYS, A GROUP OF GUYS CAN COME WITH A TRUCK AND PULL THAT GATE RIGHT UP AND OUT AND BE GONE
