context from a filipino: so we have loan sharks here in the Philippines known as 5/6 basically what that means is borrow 5 pay back 6... in laymans terms interest.. anyway before I digress, South Asian and some Turkish people are "villified" here because most of the lendees are unable to pay back the heavy interest, so the lenders have to go after them to get their money back... the blood thing was just exagerated
