For those of you who don’t understand she’s saying the working conditions were not great. It sounds like her writers team had half the resources of writers teams at a similar scale on tv. That’s bound to be an ineffective workplace.

I LOVE her for admitting this. Used to eat up her content and couldn’t stand it when she was getting shit on. But admittedly didn’t like the content either. What a legend for being candid

This actually feels so sad after watching all those videos completely tearing her apart

Drew Gooden did a fantastic video about her show. Basically, he acknowledges that most of the shows problems weren’t her fault, but that she should have realized the constraints of network television compared to being a YouTuber. Also criticized her for not taking criticism of the show well

I'm glad that he didn't badmouth her writers, they're just short-staffed. She still praised them. Ideal coworker right there.

Just so people know in the vid she says that her writers room was half the size and due to a lower budget, while other shows were filming one episode a day they had to do 3 within the span of 96(or something) leading everyone to be VERY burnt out.

Thats why traditionally hosts have a writing background, a stand-up background, or an improv background. Conan was more hilarious during the writers strike, when he was doing almost everything unscripted, or loosely scripted.

You know...sometimes it's not the joke...it's the delivery. 😅

Were they the ones who included the "bisexual woman of color" comment every.single.time?

the industry took advantage of lily so awfully they changed her entire content to fit a certain demographic that most of her recurring viewers known her for. her content was super fresh & funny & original not seen on here before by a poc woman! sad to see they milked her work like that but she’s always been a creative mind & funny asf 😂 EDIT: stay MAD

Shrinking writers rooms are why we strike! ✊

She's much more self aware than I thought

If you say so, Lilly! You were a director and executive producer on the show. Take some credit.

I admire her for admitting this, but she kept saying that people criticizing the writing of her show were haters and would talk about how successful she was compared to everyone talking about her show.

This honest statement is at odds with your Ted talk

"My writers were so funny but it wasn't funny"

Stop stop stop. I worked for a super successful LATE NIGHT talk show and she absolutely chooses her jokes every day, and to pander, “not blaming the writers”? I saw her writers group, the show I worked for had the same size room. The writers pour over media every day looking for content, and they’re constantly searching for material, they make a ton of recommendations in the morning and she goes through and picks and chooses what she wants. Then they polish and she contributes. I call BS
