I met JIMMY PAGE (and played his 50k guitar!)

I was invited to the new Gibson Garage in London when I had a moment with the legend Jimmy Page. I played his new signature guitar 12-string! Unbelievable! Thanks to @gibsonguitar for having me.

I always thought it would be epic and hilarious if Jimmy Page went into one of these "No Stairway" guitar stores and played Stairway.

I’ve met him, talked to him for a few minutes, he was a lovely guy…then ten years after (no pun intended) I picked up a hitch -hiker in the mountains of Wales, he noticed my guitar in the back seat and asked if I liked Led Zep, I regaled him with my tale of meeting Pagey, and all their local ‘history’ (Bron-y-aur etc) It was only when I dropped him off that he started laughing and informed me that he was actually Jimmy’s son Ashen, and it was ! He looks the spit of him !I drove the rest of the way home listening to Zep, of course…

About that room, I'm kinda happy that it's not closer to where I live because if I would go in there, I'm pretty sure I would get out being homeless with no car, no girlfriend anymore and in debt!

Great video, I woke up grumpy (as you do at 69yo) it really lifted my mood.
I remember a guitar shop in Sydney in the 70s Harry Landis that had a sign "anyone playing stairway to heaven or smoke on the water will be asked to leave.

I met Jimmy a few years ago on the streets of london - he was so kind and polite, I'm glad you got to meet him!

I met him and shook his hand in LA for a book signing event back in 2014. I was surprised at how strong his grip was! He commented on my shirt, which had a tree and its roots in the shape of a guitar from Kauai. Emotions came out of nowhere as I was walking away. I even slept in my truck in a parking garage! Great memory.
