Helping people solve their problems. I see why they want Huberman stopped.

I was addicted to this trash for decades. My recovery hasn't been easy. But worth it.

I started watching porn at around 14 with obviously no idea of what the future ramifications of it would be. Speaking from a first hand experience of overcoming porn addiction, I’m telling anyone right now who is struggling with it that your life will become infinitely better by quitting it. It’s not harmless. I had no idea how badly it was eating away at my self worth, my positive view of women, and my very soul until I stopped.

Huberman is no slacker. I have followed his work for years and trust his integrity.
Glad to see that Peterson agrees 😃

porn is so damaging and should be treated the same way cocaine and meth are.

It is very sad because Huberman is extremely knowledgeable and smart. People love him because he is very honest and upfront.

Ill be open and honest here. I got hooked on internet porn before I was even in highschool, Ive struggled with deep depression for about 15 years. A few weeks ago I heard this about the dopamine release of just looking at porn, it finally clicked in my head. My doctor has been giving me anti depressants to help me feel "normal" by creating more dopamine, the depletion of which has given me ADHD like effects all these years.
I was at the point in which my habit wasnt even pleasurable, it felt like an obligation to do daily. Learning what Huberman is saying was enough for me to finally make a conscious effort to quit. Im about 2 weeks on and can truly feel the difference, I dont even want to look at porn because I dont want to feel like I did. Wish I had heard about this YEARS AGO, my life would be very different now if I was never in this rut.

As a female who sometimes struggles with this issue, it is even more taboo. Im going to see JP in Nashville on April 5th and I am excited and nervous

It also destroys marriage. Few talk also about it - so be careful. All is a Godly thing, also marriage. Be clean.

Quiting both was hard and it still is. The red dude whispering in my ears is very loud, but I will never feed him again!
If you're struggling, hang in there! It is hard, don't kid yourself, but do keep it up not consuming this garbage. It gets better with time. God bless you!

There’s a meme that ironically explains this topic: person goes to their doctor and asks “Is my lifestyle causing this problem?”
“Yes” says the doctor.
“Do I need to change my lifestyle?”
Doctor: No…..we have a pill for that.

I've struggled with this from the day I found a magazine on a nature trail in my pre-teens, and the addiction grew from there for 40 years. It's a sickness that rewires your brain, and takes a LOT of effort, determination, failures, hobbies and changes in how I look at the opposite sex in a way that is more honourable, not immediately sexualizing them. My faith has helped me in these latter years, to walk away from all the temptations and thoughts, and I have been scoring more wins than ever. It's a continuing struggle, but I am definitely in recovery. To hear the science and psychology behind the addiction reaffirms that we need to rewire those pathways by seeking other more fruitful and wholesome dopamine triggers.

Bang on, Dave. The system wants us miserable. Hence, every answer google and its tendrils has to “how do I find a [partner/relationship/love/ gf/bf]” is; “Bah! Ya don’t need one. Love yourself, serf.🖕”

"The System" has many synonyms... not the least of which is the devil or Satan.

If the system is not coming for you, you are doing something wrong.

I'm 42 years old. Pornography and masturbation has been my addiction and consumed me for majority of my life. Not alcohol, not drugs, pure shut and uncleanness. It's the darkest addiction...it numbs you to love and healthy relationships.

Now it's being made aware because of prevalenceof social media....this sin has been around since the beginning of time.

I thank the Lord Jesus for his forgiveness, mercy and grace to continue
