Jordan Peterson SHOCKED By PROFOUND Catholic Teaching

For too many people religious teaching and belief is out of touch with their every day reality. What we are talking about here is not some abstract religious idea but the deep and profound truth that your suffering is your opportunity… When you take it on and face it, and accept your cross as your purpose you come to understand that it’s a GIFT FROM GOD TO MAKE YOU A SAINT… It’s the way to life in full for you… When you accept, face, and overcome what bites you, you not only become stronger yourself but you put yourself in a position to HELP OTHERS DO THE SAME. You put yourself in a position to hope build a better world and save souls…

The most important thing about life you must know is that what you suffer from, your vulnerability, your weakness is the way. It's your opportunity to become a saint, save others, and contribute to the kingdom of God on Earth…

In answer to the question from Protestants about why Catholics "leave Jesus on the cross", the image of Jesus on the cross reminds us of his sacrifice for us and the cost of our salvation through his suffering. They would probably say the empty cross emphasizes Jesus' resurrection, but it really doesn't. Jesus wasn't resurrected directly from the cross. He was resurrected from the tomb. The empty tomb represented his resurrection. When he was taken down from the cross, he was dead. The miracle of the resurrection didn't happen at the cross.

When I was listening to the original podcast and heard Jordan ask the question about celebrating the crucifixion, I literally responded allowed, "We celebrate every Mass!" The entire podcast was so deep and powerful.

This is good. When Jordan Peterson finally converts, he will lead many others who follow him, but are not Christian. And I believe and pray he will, since his wife has a wonderful and inexplicable recovery from cancer (look that up).

I have a lot of issues with Catholicism but this is not one of them. Why would any Christian have an issue with "leaving Christ on the cross"? That is kind of the entire point...

John 3:15 is a verse in the Catholic Bible that reads: "so that everyone who believes in him may have eternal life". The verse is part of Chapter 3 of the Gospel of John. The term "eternal life" is used here for the first time in John, and it stresses the quality of life rather than duration.

As an Eastern Orthodox Christian I will mention that we actually believe that on Pascha, the morning of the celebration of the Resurrection, we sacramentally/mysteriously join Christ at the gates of death on the one true day of his Resurrection standing behind him as his army as he breaks the gates that held those bound by sin to mortality. It's real, not just a commemoration. Likewise, salvation is not a simple act of blind faith. It is the act of faithfully carrying OUR cross, so it's not a question of salvation by faith versus works, but the fact that salvation IS the path that we walk, and the ability to faithfully walk the path that is impossible for mortals to walk.

Dr. Peterson needs to look into Theresian theology. St. Therese rejoiced in her littleness and helplessness, in a way rejoicing in the mortality of the Cross.

I had a nightmare while locked up where I was literally surrounded by a brood of vipers. They were like parasites digging their fangs into everything, even my eyes. I sense that -in- it happened in a past life or divergent timeline. I say this confidently because there was another event previously where I had genuine fear and I could hear the voices say exactly what was on my mind. There was people around but I know reality ain't what it seems. Another time someone dipped a pool ball in the restroom toilet. You could hear the person really going in the public toilet -than- then walks away. As he is walking away I hear the ball drop right in front of my stall. He then goes to pick it up but not before touching my belongings with it. I even heard people talking about me before I walked in. The Devil knows the bible better than anyone. I don't talk to the devil when he calls my name, but when I'm losing it all feels the same. Because I'm going up against too many horses, and mysterious forces... I'm not gonna win but still I'm the luckiest man... Go ahead make jokes but some day, you'll be standing where I am and you're not gonna like it. Society is a cesspool, I'm not offended. I know I have to rise above it all or drown in my own shit...
