Jordan Peterson was on The Iced Coffee Hour podcast and in the clip I'm about to show he explains, in a profound way, what is the deepest truth of Christianity. Listen to why this is so important for you, and for everyone to know, especially in our modern world.

Imagine how you could help others and contribute to the world having gone through and overcoming the suffering you are going through. The treasure of Christianity that so many in the world desperately need right now is that through suffering with God you are pruned and made a stronger version of yourself. I can't imagine suffering without God, any good I've done in my life is the result of God forming into a better man through suffering, and pruning off the excess, dead, useless, and detrimental branches of my being so that I might be of higher and best use for Him.

The good life doesn’t seek to maximize pleasure and eliminate as much pain as possible. It seeks virtue. Jesus is the highest virtue so pursuing Christ is the good life.

I have suffered every day since 1992. Too much to list. It has made me a better person. More compassion, empathy and trying to help others. Yes my suffering has meaning!!!❤❤

Two years ago, reading and meditating on II Peter 1:5-7 and realizing that I had made substantial progress in adding virtue, knowledge, and self-control to my faith. However, when it came to perseverance, which when you study related passages means to endure trials and tribulations with patient joy, because of what God is accomplishing through suffering to conform you to the Image of Christ. I realized that I had not substantially added this to my faith, and I was stuck in an ungodly attitude of not being thankful and joyful for my suffering. Well, in the last two years I have gone through by far the greatest suffering in my life. I woke up this morning with the clear realization that God has healed me of the brokenness that preventing me from accepting and being thankful for suffering. That I was now ready to pursue godliness with passion! Praises be unto the Lord!!!

I find that I’m kinder and more patient if I ever happen to be in pain. Because I can suffer for others and my own soul, it produces great joy. St. Therese called this “Joy in Suffering” ❤️‍🔥

"Welcome the suffering." Not a popular message in today's world. ALso found in James 1.. "Consider it pure joy when you face trials of many kinds..."

Great Wisdom. Material comforts can dull us into meaninglessness.

I like his explanation of the flaming swords. No child left behind but cleansed, purified and redeemed. That truly is hope and good news.

i find deep comfort with the belief that Everything that happens (and i mean everything) is Good for those who love the Lord. all the truly good stuff comes from learning that suffering leads to perseverance which leads to hope which leads to LOVE, IN THAT ORDER if need be. let people fail, let them find hope, let them find love, let them be human. But don't Ever let someone steal away the love that God has for you. that person works for darkness

Jesus, the way and the truth and the life, has suffered greatly, and voluntarily, and his suffering was deeply meaningful. Why would your life, if lived optimally, be free of suffering?

Not sure who Zach Costello is but this is my first viewing of anything on his channel. His commentary at the end of this clip earned my subscription. We obviously have to be able to discern what is truth and opposite but if it’s out of the bible and resonates in your heart and is in alignment with Christian values then I listen, study, pray and am thankful. Thx Mr Costello. Keep going I pray.

Thanks Zack for your video, I appreciate your post. This video has changed my view on suffering and how I should be pushing harder on the things that are important.

Yes, Dr. Peterson seems to get it as far as the idea of "suffering" goes, but where he misses it, and I suspect that many Christians do as well, is that he addresses suffering strictly from a psychological point of view and in the context of our humanness alone. And he is correct in that as far as it goes. We, even on a strictly human level (meaning devoid of any Biblical considerations), do prosper relative to the degree to which we handle our misfortunes and sufferings properly and decline as persons relative to the level that we allow our hardships to defeat us, but when Christ was speaking of "suffering" or of "pruning" He was speaking of something a lot deeper having to do with Faith; that, somehow, without the active acceptance of the denial of the Self in the pursuit of Faith in Him there is no genuine Faith. Otherwise, His statements are revealing nothing new that mankind hadn't already discovered for themselves in many cultures.

That's it!
The depth doesn't have to be associated with suffering when you start seeing the logical connections of a God....
