Inconvenient time for an appliance to give up.
One year my dishwasher broke on Christmas after dinner. Unfortunately COVID meant I was waitlisted for replacement. Being Dutch, there are traditional New Year's treats. So two major bouts of cooking within a week, with no dishwasher. Believe me, you have my sincere sympathies for the added work.

I lived in Italy for several years when I was young & I love caponata, but it's no longer available in grocery stores, so this is interesting.
