There are many Beretta 92s. There is only one *THE* IDPA Beretta 92, which served as the basis for the gun on the original IDPA logo, was used to train Tier One units, and is linked to Ken Hackathorn, Ernest Langdon, Super Dave Harrington, and Wayne Novak.

This was a great video, thank you. I would love to own a piece of history like that. Langdon is an absolute wizard

So glad I discovered Duane's channel today. I couldn't SUBSCRIBE fast enough. Duane has been my favorite writer for years now. This is so awesome. I'll be spreading the word about this channel.

Huge fan of 92 series of guns here. For some reason I just shoot them better than my custom 2011’s. Very nice review!

I Shot IDPA for the 1st Time. With my Customized 92 From Mr Langdon before the LTT came out. And Smoked all 34 runners, CZ gods and M&P guys. Till the last stage when. 1 guy was so mad that a first timer with a " Grandpa Gun" his words. Was beating the pants of him handily, Went to the Judge Table and said I had an illegal gun and kinda tried to berate me there and did all the size and weight stuff, then they made me disassemble my 92 and then they were looking for illegal parts or something. And by this time there was a big ol crowd. And my gun was found legit which it was. And then we went back to last stage and smoked him again and ended up winning my div, and 3rd out of 100. So I felt vindicated, with a Tuned up Surplus 92FS. I told him its not the tool, but what is using it. I love my 92 and still go with it today. Even though it is a Wilson Combat logod piece with the grips and hammer. MR. Langdon did my, piece personally. and small side note Mr. Langdon was one of my Weapons Instructors in the Marines way back.
Really cool to see duane you have both those 92s.

A week or so ago, I was talking on the phone to Ken Hackathorn.

Ken: You know, I only got the latest issue of The Blue Press yesterday.

Me: Yeah, me too.

Ken. But I knew it had already been out for a few days in other places in the country. Because since your article on "THE IDPA Beretta 92, " on how I sold you the gun that served as the basis for the gun on the original IDPA logo started hitting mailboxes, I'd already gotten a few calls from people saying, "If I'd known you had that gun, I would have bought it." I just tell them, "Hey, I was talking to Duane, the topic came up, he expressed an interest in buying it, I sold it to him. That's all there is to it."

Me: Well, the next time you talk to them, just tell them, "I cut Duane a rock-bottom price of five thousand dollars. But I'm sure if you were to offer him ten thousand dollars, he might consider selling it to you."

Ken: <uncontrollable laughter>

Really enjoyed the video, Duane. But, I knew you were kidding about the modifications as soon as you said "get rid of this Novak prototype." Good stuff!

The 92 has always been a fantastic pistol. I'm glad it's finally getting the full respect it deserves.
* Have you experimented with a 92 that has the hk type o ring bushing installed? I believe it may be the ideal bushing system for a 92.

Great video! Really enjoyed it. Although I thought I was gonna have to give you a thumbs down towards the end when you started talking about changing everything lol you had me for a minute.
Glad you’re keeping it the way it is. Awesome little piece of Beretta/LTT/IDPA history right there.
