Gloves enable fighters to punch harder, which in turn means the punches cause more concussive damage. Removing gloves would mean less brain damage, but more cuts and bone breaking. And grappling would probably get even more attention.

Your two knuckles in your index and middle finger are large, hard and domed specifically to cause damage. The issue is people are punching with their ring and pinky finger along with the other two, which are made for mechanical function alone and not to be used as weapons.

No one wants to break their hands every 3 months🤣 I would agree if it was a one time thing but to a degree if someone does this for a job they need to be able to go back to work.

I’ve only been in a handful of fights but there’s one that taught me a lesson worth remembering. Was actually the last time I went all in with someone else. My hands were in pain for what seemed like months. His two black eyes and busted lips healed within a couple weeks. The lesson I learned was that nobody wins a fight in the long run.

As a matter of fact, there are several studies of how human fist specifically evolved to punch other humans, yes, the primarily function is to work as a tool, but the secondary is to function as a weapon.
