Really appreciate this video. I tend to rely on the fallback method in my terminal which supports that natively (wezterm). But I had a need to add some symbols to a font I use in a firefox extension (TabBliss). I had attempted this in the past but messed it up one way or another. Got it working this time though by following your example.

Another option is to use fallback fonts and to use the “symbols” nerd font as a fallback font. This is a font with no characters, just the nerd font icons.

This way normal characters will be displayed using the original font you choose and characters unrecognised (glyphs…etc) will be displayed correctly using the fallback font.

Sadly the option for fallback font is not yet available in Warp, but it’s available in all other major terminals (and also in JetBrains IDEs).

I use Monolisa (my favourite font) for code and Comic Code Ligatures for the terminal. Both are paid but they are awesome imo!

in windows 11, i keep getting the "select an app to open 'font patcher'" prompt, and when i chose the fontforge.exe it keeps getting me an exit code 2
