What a performance Diana Rigg gave. Olenna is meant to be tiny. Dianna Rigg, even elderly...and you do shrink when you're old...was still very tall. She gave one of the most unforgettable performances. Just the way she drank the poison, and then held her mouth was so deft and eloquent.
I only got to see her a couple of times on stage in the 90s, at the Almeida. As Euripides' Medea, and as Martha in Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf. Both fierce and heart breaking characters.
