I am Indonesian who flies pretty often. I have lived in several continents and made the airbus headquarter my home for one year. Statistically speaking, Indonesia is the third biggest nation, not very surprising if it had those bad statistics presented. It is always wise to beware of what not presented from a media. There must have been more causes that might not be resulted from the aspects that you blamed on Indonesia and the airline.

RIP FLT 610, Safety first ladies and gentlemen, no cut corners. If the airplane doesn't sound good ground it right away. Let test pilots from Boeing check it out. Because it's a brand new airplane. Passengers safety come first. More training in flight simulators. Call Boeing manufacturer if you are not sure. Never assume a brand new airplane will fly perfectly every time.

Very likely a minor instrumental malfunction. This minor malfunction led to a series of mistakes by the pilots due to a lack of training/understanding of the updated avionics. Meaning they may not have trusted the responses from the plane. It's entirely likely they ignored the instructions provided on the screen to fully understand what the plane was doing versus the faulty reading. Pilots can train for emergencies daily and still panic. Add panic to a newer cockpit, new avionics suite, or screen layout/menu and disaster strikes.

As many others said; if there was an issue on the previous flight, the plane should have been grounded. However, with everything fly by wire, a reboot of the flight systems typically resolves any minor issues. The issue is noted and off the plane goes in order to stay on schedule. If the same issue is reported again, further testing is done to replicate the fault electronically. If the issue isn't replicated electronically, the plane is pulled from service and flight tested to find the fault dor resolution. That said, not all countries/airlines follow such strict protocol.

No matter the cause, lessons must be learned from this deadly accident. So sad.

Yeah, the airline co. could be sketchy and the pilot could be at fault but I think they should also be looking on the scenario that a 2 billion dollar plane that is only 2 months old, is already having technical issues. The same thing applies if your have a 100k dollar brand new car which is also 2 months old then stalls on the highway while your driving.

Unfortunately, these new planes practically fly themselves. When something goes wrong, the pilots panic or are not very good at flying a plane on their own. Result--Crash.

Indonesia is huge, same as West Europe territory, thousands airplane fly everyday. This one of brand new boeing plane is strange case. In Indonesia, i think Russian plane is more safety.
