Mmmm. That explains why in my country you can now only find X-shot stuff and not a single Nerf blaster on stores anymore.

Hasbro wasting time on a new substandard ammo type is just a harsh reminder that MegaXL truly is dead and that makes me sad

Yeah, Time for Mattel to bring back Boomco 'straws'!

I don’t even care about the blasters, for me the problem is the darts. Yes they are good and defiantly better than elite darts, but WHY make them only work for specific blasters? Why couldn’t nerf just make a blue and orange version of waffle darts? I have no confidence that this line will last long enough for me to buy these darts in bulk.

Meanwhile, Zuru is now offering a pair of magazines for like $10.

One thing I did recall the engineers mention, was that the bigger dart width vs elite allowed the head to dissipate the impact force over a wider area, so it'd hurt less. That's a consideration I appreciate in theory, as someone who doesn't like getting whacked by 100+fps rounds at close range. But I'm still a bit skeptical it'd make too much of a difference.

I just think it's so silly that this whole time the big reason why Elite darts sucked was because they had a vent hole on only one side and it caused asymmetric drag. Chances are good if they just punched another matching hole in those heads they would have flown about as well as a lot of other darts. And that inaccuracy is the main reason folks were saying "DON'T get Nerf brand darts."

As is, I fear they're now making it so that people in the North American markets will actually look at Nerf and go "...Nah I'll just go with Dart Zone" and Nerf will take the wrong message from it yet again and end up making themselves SO proprietary while being unappealing to all but the most casual market sector that they'll just end up pushing themselves out of their own market. If they pursued quality instead and focused on distinct brand lines for different age groups I think we'd be in a better spot.

We're now hitting a point where "more power" ≠ "better" and I think classifying models by recommended engagement distance makes the most sense. And we need innovations that are based around that.

My local Minnesota Nerf group hosted a game yesterday with 30 or so players of all age ranges, and it didn't occur to me until I was watching your video just now that I didn't see a single N1 dart or N-Series blaster at the game. There were a few kids about 8 years old there, but they weren't playing with N-Series blasters. One had a Rival Perses, one had an Omnia Pro, and the last one had a Dart Zone Pro MK-3; and they were keeping pace with the adults and teens and holding their own just fine. I think the lesson here is that even if you are 8 years old doesn't mean you can't tell the difference between a good blaster and a lousy one, and kids who are into Nerf want to play with the same good blasters the older folks are playing with. Which is just fine by me as long as they wear eye protection and understand and are okay with the fact that a 150+ FPS dart is going to hurt a little to get with, which they certainly did.

I _really_ hope that both this, AI art allowing the flooding of bad/mediocre Magic the Gathering Cards, and the complete failure of the next edition of Dungeons and Dragons sets Hasbro on a fire that they canNOT put out!

N-1's naming made alot more sense than Ultra, I would give them that

Hasbro has been playing catchup with Nerf for a few years.

I agree with Beret that Nerf didn't need to "reinvent the wheel" and that that ammo variety is a good thing.

Kids gravitated towards it but... had MASSIVE trouble with the Pinpoint. Jam jam jam because of the bolt. Should have had an auto-return on that bolt. And the mags, to be TRULY kid friendly, should have been reversible IMO. If you load em backwards (I have too), they are difficult to clear out. Honeymoon is fading lol. I still like the goal of it all, and some of the moves... anyway, I guess I agree with everything haha.

Glueing a worker gen2 head onto an n1 body makes it waay more accurate and still fit the infinite mag

I honestly think a change like this is what Nerf needed. Was a new dart type too much? Maybe. Nerf did need a change of some kind

The worst part about this whole series is the quality control, not the dart type. These blasters don't work consistently (the only consistently working one being the Sprinter)

One thing I do appreciate is the absolute TON of mod potential these things have, and the longevity of the new dart type seems good when considering the price. But time will tell how this series turns out. If Hasbro irons out the kinks and issues than maybe JSUT MAYBE this thing will be a success. (Or it'll tank like Ultra lol)

I really think that all nerf mags should have a little bit of a curve on the bottom like the one that comes with the demolisher. Makes it much more obvious which way is forward even from far away.

im spreading the conspiracy theory that nerf made their pro line bad on purpose to sabotage half lengths and make n series look good in contrast to sell their proprietary ammo.

It was because of your brutal takedown of Nerf Water

Yeah what I noticed with those bashing N-Series is that they're mostly North American based and have easy to access 3rd party companies

Nerf thrives on basically broader reaches and it seems that being more available in places that aren't willing to have Pro blasters just sitting around.

Also before I get comments on how they found Dart Zone Pro in their countries, I ask this; Was that at the same time as the actual release date?
