2.2 is closer than ever, and with it will come over 80 NEW TRIGGERS, but this made me realize: I don't even know how to use the 14 that are already in the game. Today, I'll be going through every trigger in Geometry Dash and trying to learn how it works WITHOUT looking it up online!

13:37 The reason the count trigger is not activating, is because the count trigger acts sort of like an "event listener" (when counter goes to 5 or more). What this essentially means is that as soon the trigger activates, the trigger will start counting, but because the count trigger hasn't been activated before picking up the items, the count trigger doesn't know that you have picked the items up + there are no items after the trigger
17:44 Also the reason you figured out the instant count trigger but not the regular count trigger is because of their one major difference, one is an event listener, while the other is a "spawn trigger with an 'if' check". Essentially, the instant count trigger acts exactly like a spawn trigger but **ONLY IF** the condition is met (in this case, the "picked up coins" count is equal or larger than the amount of coins that you should've picked up at that moment)

Spawn Trigger is really handy for loops or when you're looking to activate multiple triggers, All it does is force the group to activate with the option of a time delay.

For example say you want ground spikes move up and down in a wave pattern, Instead of spacing move triggers every time you want this effect, You can set up a chain at the start of the level that activates the next move after a 0.1 delay, Now every time you want the effect all you need is a single Spawn Trigger in that location.

The follow trigger is extremly useful as you can use it to create a parallax effect as well as use it in combination with the move triggers follow target to make some complex effect. It honestly might be my favourite trigger.

13:37 As people have said already, the count trigger needs to be before the items, not after. I also noticed you forgot to check "Activate group" so it will toggle off the group, not on and activate the triggers.

Regular count triggers when are activated, are actually waiting until the number count reaches a certain number. And when this appens it executes its thing. So try to move the count trigger before the coins

i lowkey used robtop's "editor example" levels to learn how the triggers work because its so weird getting used to them

SDslayer one use for the “follow” trigger is putting a H block on top of your cube and then just hold mouse down boom 10, 000, 000, 000 jumps added to your total.

Another thing is story telling, your cube has a pickaxe in the story? Make a pickaxe art and make it follow your cube. Very cool 👍

You have to put the counter trigger before all the coins and as soon as you get to a specific amount it activates the thing

Count trigger always checks for the required amount, and if a trigger is spawn triggered, it can be activated by toggling it on. Thats how stuff works around here.

5:40 I got you. the toggle trigger can make things dissapear and appear again. but the spawn trigger activates triggers with the group you set the trigger to.
