He didn't know Access but he figured "How hard could it be?" He bought a couple of good books and spent the next two weeks teaching himself everything he could about Microsoft Access.

I totally agree, actually one of the reasons the old method of teaching in schools fails and most people dont remember most of things they "learned" in school is because while studying in school there is always this philosophical question is in back of your head, why am i learning this ? is this really useful ? am i going to use this or let a software do the whole calculation job ? is this really necessary to know ? and all this doubts combined with shallow and not useful for real life examples makes you just not actually learn what is important.

Thank you for mentioning AI code completion as it pertains to concept. As a coder of 20 years which includes all Microsoft stack programming languages, this could be a huge help.

My issue is that everyone on the internet saying the truth, to learn and understand something you need to write code. So the issue for me is what should I write? In the beginning I need projct examples etc. When I google project for beginner i always get the same projects like build an ATM etc, if I learn algorithms, how should I build an ATM with it etc?

So, what is the best way to just "write code" ?
