I use an old Sony HVL-42 with the old Minolta mount and a Sony Minolta to Multi-interface shoe to mount on my Sony a6000. High speed sync works great. Then I use my Yongnuo flash in S1 mode as a second flash, and it appears to work perfectly in high-speed sync! I'm happy!

Thank you, this was helpful. I got the Neweer tt560 from your last wireless speed light video. It doesn't pair up with HSS either, which is not surprising as it is not advertised as HSS. The flash fires, but does not sync. On camera it will shoot up to 1/250 before the bar is visible, but will allow the shutter speed to go far beyond that. Using it at 1/160 has worked just fine wirelessly and has been just fine for indoor shoots against a black backdrop. Although I cannot shoot with them in HSS, I at least do now have 3 point off camera lighting with 2 tt560s and the 1 Di700a+air commander.

Amen to you regarding the Sony Multi Interface Hotshoe... Since I often use the Godox/Flashpoint hotshoe units on a bracket and trigger them with an R2 trigger, I wish that I could replace the flimsy plastic Sony hotshoe with a more sturdy screw mount attachment. This is possible with the Godox TTL360 flashes and that screw mount is very practical. I would be happy to buy an equivalent screw mount for my other hotshoe flashes if it were available.

I had the same problem. I bought the Yongnuo HSS transceiver to use on a Flashpoint Rovelight 600B and it didn't work so I sold it and got the Pixel King trigger and receiver which I was reluctant to do because it uses the Minolta hotshoe and I needed to use an adapter but luckily one came with my a99, though I hate these Frankenstein set ups we have to deal with for Sony. Last night I was fed up and looking to list all of my equipment on eBay then I came across Godox TT685S which not only has HSS but it also has TTL and it's only $119 on Amazon and it just got released recently. There is also another set up through Godox that you can use and it's the TT600S and it cost $69 though it doesn't have TTL and that it doesn't do HSS on camera but off camera it can do HSS when paired with the TT685S as the master on camera or the X1-S trigger. The trigger also became available recently for sony and it cost $46 but it's on back order though you can buy it off of eBay but it'll take two weeks to get to your door step. I bought two TT685S flashes, one TT600S flash and a X1-S trigger. I bought the first "TT685S" on Amazon for $119 which will be here in 5 days and another flash and trigger combo "TT685S and X1-S" on eBay for $165 and thats estimated to get to my door step in 2-3 weeks and a TT600 for $69 which will be at my door step in two to three weeks also. In case you don't see the pattern here the stuff is on back order so get it while you can. All together it cost me $353 which is reasonable if you ask me and I forgot to mention that the you can controll the exposure of the speedlights off camera with the master flash or trigger on camera.

I would be very curious if the Minolta HS5400 via the hotshoe adapter, will HSS on the a6000??

Nissin Air 1 Commander will not work with your YN flash. Only flash on the market, at this time, that works with Air 1 commander is Nissin Di700a. Nissin released receiver Air R unit that works with Air 1 system, but only available for Canon and Nikon at this time. Sony version should be here soon.

The Yongnuo YN
560-Tx that is in the demonstration is the one that is compatible for
Nikon or Canon, because the controllers only exist for nikon and canon
and from there we can already use them for sony, pentax, olympus,
fujifilm, but we have to Buy Canon for Nikon

I can have on camera hss with Nex 5t and Yongnuo 560III with adapter, so I believe it is possible also with a6000. You need to set properly the flash. Also it is possible to have that unit triggered with flash for hss. Just wrong setting on 560IV.

Hello Hunter. Your report made an impression on me but a couple things were left out that I, for one, would have loved to see you explain: Is YN 568 EX II a Radio or an Iris transmitter/receiver? After I watched your video I became curious about the Nissin Air commander transmitter and checked to see whether there were receivers. I found out that they do exist and are Radio transmitter/receiver. Now my second question is would this system work with the YN568 EX II so as to have a complete radio transmission system so I could buy more than one YN568-EX II and not worry about where I place each one for proper communication?

I think, HSS only works with native TTL- mode Master- Flashes or native TTL/HSS Triggers. I use Pixxel Kings for Sony on my a7ii and NEX 6 with Godox V850 Flashes for about 100 Euro and it works well.
