Following a substantial order over two years ago, Emirates is set to operate the Airbus A350-900 from 2023. However, following the 2021 Dubai Air Show and Boeing’s delay in delivering the 777X, Airbus hinted that it could potentially bring deliveries of the A350 forward, as Emirates rethinks the composition of its fleet.

Considering so many of their crews work with the A380, using an A350 seems straightforward because they'll be so much familiarity, especially in the cockpit.

Emirates should work with what’s set right now. We all know that the A350 it’s an amazing machine and it’s already out. But a large order like that for a potential aircraft who’s showing signs of delays and problems with certification is not a good first impression. They should reduce their order and request the A350s to be delivered earlier than expected

The A350 will give Emirates greater route and operational flexibility.

777X would be huge risk if something goes wrong within 1 year

I think they should order more A350s (especially the -1000) to keep up with rivals like Qatar and Singapore Airlines, of which are making extensive use of the type. Also please make the same video about Emirates' A330neo order.

Maybe they will move for A350-1000 if 777-9 delays further

Love the EK livery on the A350. Looks so elegant. Good luck and safe travels.

I think the best thing for Emirates is to be flexible and adjust their orders to suit their needs as things develop.

IMO, anything after the A380 is a step down, especially for the Premium seats. The biz class bar, first class showers, and the overall comfort in an A380 can’t be matched

I would like to suggest an Extension of the A350 order, as this Aircraft offers an outstanding comfort in Noise reduction an savings of fuel consumption. And, it’s available earlier, in Addition with the quality problems has had with the dreamliner and the delay on the 777X.

I think it will be a great addition to their fleet! Even if the A350 is not as big on regards of capacity and cargo to the 777X but it could serve great for pilots who are moving from A380 to A350 and with all the delays, it is a great option for the shorter routes operated by the A380

Folk on bere are like "Emirates should cancel their 77X order because of delays"....Why? They need the 77X to replace their older 77W and A380s. The reason why EK ordered the 787 and A359 was because they needed something in that size category after the 772/77E/A333/A345 all exited the fleet. They need smaller aircraft on thinner routes. Also, the A350-1000 maybe an fuel efficiant aircraft, but many airlines have said that it cant properly compete with the 77W and 777X in terms of cargo and payload.

If Emirates cancel, even partially, the 777-9 order and replace it with the A350-1000(?), the program will only be profitable after many years. And I'm not sure that many airlines are expecting big aircrafts before 2027....

All that aside, Emirates livery looks so stunning on the a350

There are so many positive features to the A350 family that it would be difficult to discount it`s important role to all the major airlines. This airliner was super-reliable from introduction & it`s has improved & grown in stature over a very short time. Its economical, comfortable & importantly passengers love it. It`s is also future-proofed with the prospect of the RR XWB UltraFan engine being fitted in just a few years which would make it an unbeatable combination for the next couple of decades.

I’d scrap their whole order for 787’s and 777x and replace with A350 - 900’s & A350-1000.

I do recall that Emirates had an order for 70 A350's originally but they were cancelled, given the trouble Boeing are experiencing i feel Emirates are better of with the A350
