If the deal doesn't go through, I hope Microsoft puts all of their energy into supporting their current studios actively working on games.

They need to put more money into their studios

I’m more concerned what will happen to Activision/Blizzard if this doesn’t go through. Microsoft will be fine

Bro microsoft president legit threatened the UK in a press release. Was rather funny

Microsoft should take that acquisition money and use it to get the studios it currently owns operating smoothly before that start acquiring another studio or publisher. The situation with 343i and Halo was just embarrassing.

I think Microsoft is still interested in the gaming sector and will keep Xbox around.
You don’t drop 20 years of operations over one deal that didn’t go your way appreciably when they are already investing into the very issue the CMA was concerned over.

It’s depressing how toxic the gaming community has gotten before the hate

Whether it does or doesn't go through the relationship between Sony and Activision will forever be tarnished between the 2.

Microsoft has said a thousand times they’re in on gaming and that Activision Blizzard isn’t the be all end all for their gaming ambitions. How is it they’re legit telling everyone this but we’re still leading with questions if they’ll pull out of gaming were the acquisition to fail?

What MS is doing is nothing like Sony. Sony is buying new studios they've been working with, taking the incredible talent as part of the deal - then working with them to make great new original titles.

MS is literally buying established publishers so they can claim their new and old games as their own, restricting future games on PS, and totally ignoring the ones they bought. All they're doing is throwing money at them without actually working with them - that's why so many of the talented vets have left the studios they bought. It's Rare all over again.

Why does the British/EU/UK declare what 2 US companies do?

Microsoft has 30 studios that are pretty much dead in the water and they should've invested in those studios and we could've had games by now...Insomniac is doing it pumping out games like crazy and so has Nintendo...Whatever Xbox has been releasing right now hasn't had that impact like what Nintendo and Playstation has released.

Microsoft and Phil making it really difficult to be an Xbox fan at this time. All that time, effort, and money should've been used to make actual good single player games with all those studios they've been acquiring over the years

Saying Xbox is in trouble without the purchase is the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time. Are we running out of things to talk about ? They've been around for how long without Activision so why would they be in trouble now ? They would still get the games on Xbox anyway and if Activision goes away then nobody gets the games, so the whole discussion is just stupid.

Why would Microsoft leave gaming?😂 y’all tripping…

I read one article stating MS could go as far as removing themselves from UKs cloud infrastructure completely to get the deal done.

The vast majority that wants this deal to go through is the Xbots fanboys.

I do believe Phil had said before that Bethesda would run themselves as usual, just under the Microsoft umbrella. I imagine that's what they would do with any other publisher they acquired. That said I think the brand will be fine as long as they get into a cadence of releasing quality games finally. If that doesn't happen, I don't think Game Pass can even save them.
