Chain of command is a big one towards the end, learn your chain of command early, TCCC, your Fireteam formations/ Hand Signals. THEY CANT DROP YOU FOR ON THE SPOT QUESTIONS. However shit during BWT is CRUCIALz practice your McMap and study your knowledge for tests. It’s not hard just made it through basic SEMPER FI

I never understood why people feel like they need to prepare for BootCamp. You have plenty of time to learn all this shit while you're there... unless you have some sort of learning disability.

It'll make things easier. Sure, I guess. But... it's not really all that hard.

You spend a significant portion of your time standing in formations doing nothing. You could focus on how much your feet hurt... or maybe you could have that inner dialogue with yourself going over the stuff you're learning or supposed to have memorized.

There are a few things he left out. Always and I mean always call your Senior, or any Juniors "sarge". They actually are secretly wanting to be pals with you. This is an ice breaker, and will lead to warm fuzzy moments. Also if you're a reservist brag about that. It'll score you some points. Also remember it's the Corps and we say hooah and not oorah. Also since you are going to be a Marine always refer to yourself as a Marine and not recruit. This show initiative. Your senior will appreciate you and promote you to the position of guide. This is a coveted position that all the other recruits trust and admire. Just my two cents. Semper Fi mf'ers. See you in the fleet.
