Why dont you use just a usb ethernet adapter at school like macally. It costs like 20-30e and I am pretty sure that you dont have to have administrative rights to change its ip address.

Corollary: never use the IP address 192.168.1.1 for any router / plc / station, guaranteed big problems if ignored. I would even not use 192.168.1.0/24

Hallo, when i face this issue i let Tia portal change the IP adress of my PC and nothing goes wrong actually :!!!! it is strange for me why on your PC it didnt work ?? anayway thx and carry on
