I remember the Sputnik era well. In grade school, we would gather in the auditorium and watch all the space shots on a tiny black and white television. Because of the interest, our classes turned out many more engineers and scientists than in the past.

That's a really cool table. My favorite conductor is Neeme Järvi, also Estonian. 🙂 He was the conductor for the Detroit Symphony Orchestra for a number of years. He brought such a joie de vivre (sp?) to his conducting.

Beautiful piece, love the simple, clean lines and that ultra-modern look of nearly 60 years ago.... Another seemingly "easy" restoration, but needed an artisan's hand to do it right. Thank you again, Ahti for another excellent video. Cheers.

The finished table actually looks very modern. As others have commented "timeless". The great thing about a table with three legs is that it does not rock, even on an uneven floor! Lovely work.
