Fun fact, the placenta is not a maternal tissue but a foetal one. Meaning it does not carry the DNA of the mom but of the baby.

Donated mine after my fourth child. Had repeat c section which caused my pregnancy with my fourth to have complications. The placenta was attached to my uterus. Which translates into 7 hour surgery and everything removed. I donated so they could study and hopefully fine out more about this condition.

Edit- Thank you for the correct term for this. Post pregnancy brain lol. Anyways I’ve made a full recovery with no complications. Thank you Lord. Baby girl will be 7 months soon and is happy and healthy also❤️ God bless everyone.

I don't know why everyone is sharing hate about her She's doing a good thing many persons like me are really curious to understand each and every organ in our body and placenta is nothing to be funny she is explaining everything thing with such a confidence that's you guys aren't able to digest and if she would explain all those stuff with a little hesitation then everybody would be like ''oo what all that hesitation lady you should not hesitate while explaining such things '' 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️

I had no idea placentas were that big! It was only described as a "disc-shaped organ that attaches to the uterine wall" to me in school so I assumed it would only be an inch or two wide. Fascinating!
