Overheating of motherboard can be caused by few faults. If the thermal pads below the heatsinks are causing bad thermal conductivity then only this video will provide you help. If there is some other issue then you might get the board checked by a professional. Cheers..!

Thank you for the video guide. MX4 paste is what I have been using since 11 years. And I have used it in spaces where I can get away with it, without using thermal pads.

Points to note:
1. Use small pliers, and be cautious to not touch the board with the sharp ends of the plier.
2. Do not use a screw driver head to clean off the thermal paste/pad residue.
3. Do not brush the area, it can lead to small scale damage, since pressure is not required.
4. Do not hold the motherboard in your hands without discharging static electricity.
5. Work on a man's bench/desk/table. Not your bed/sofa.
6. Use only plastic tools, and paper towels/cotton balls to remove the thermal conductivity solution with alcohol.
7. Be gentle throughout, you can get away with how brutal he was in the video, but any damage sustained will void warranty. Good luck.

Again great instructions, good video, nice technique. Just not for everyone. Since it is dangerous. The plate of the cpu is already uneven, taking a screw driver head to it is creating more problems than finding a solution. A plastic pry tool will be less damaging. Alcohol with patience would have chemically unbounded the thermal paste there.

I have done this job for myself since 1999. I have improved cooling solutions for laptops, cellphones, routers, airconditioner motherboards, car ecu/pcm, and televisions. Frankly in our usage today, I find it useless, as we don't keep appliances as long as we used to and I don't have as much time I once had as a kid. So now I only limit this to cpu/GPU.

Hardware Monitor showing max temp of 474C on AUXTIN, the problem was the BIOS set to PCI not onboard graphics. Changing to onboard rectified the problem. I'm changing the thermal paste as it loses its conductivity over time utilising this tutorial as a guide.
