Repairing chipped corners on drywall using a little joint compound and some touch up paint.

I used "ProForm Lite Dust-Tech" for the joint compound, but you should be able to use any joint compound.

Literally the only video I could find for small cosmetic repairs. Everything else seemed to be big dramatic repairs. 😁

Thanks, I would avoid joint compound in cracks though, use caulk, it’s flexible and can stretch to avoid another crack as the wall shifts

America seems a lot more difficult to touch up/make good than the UK. Our walls and ceilings are pretty much always plastered smooth (unless it’s old properties where artex was used), so touch ups are a hell of a lot easier than matching in to the pop corn/dash/skip trowel you have there

I tried to repair a couple of these in my apartment using spackle. I had trouble getting the spackle to stick to the corners to begin with. When I finally got the spackle to stick on there until it dried, it just crumbled apart!

So, was it because I was using spackle that it didn't work? Will joint compound stick on there and stay on there better?

BTW, I won't be able to paint it afterwards. I have to seal it with a clear mat sealer instead. The reason is because my apartment managers don't know what shade of white paint was used by management over 15 years ago. They don't have record of it (long story) and have been unable to match the shade at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc.

So small repairs just have to blend in. Interestingly enough, the dried spackle is the exact shade of white that was used on the walls years ago. 🤔

@
Mark Sarpy, can kindly you recommend the joint compound/touch up paint you used? I have a little bit of chipping just like your wall, do you think I can get away without touch up paint?
