The video says that reaching forgiveness in the case of adultery can take up to a year. I contribute to infidelity support groups and this is anecdotal but maybe 10% reach it in a year. 3-5 years is more common. I also detected a suggestion, troubling to me, that not forgiving your spouse is a form of abuse. I don't believe that it is; words and behaviors are abuse.

And then what happens when your boyfriend dumped you . And you was told to go on with your life and you did that where you did speak to another guy . In a couple months then you made up with him again cause you still loved him . And now 5 years after the fact he asked you and then you told him that you spoke to someone else now he tells you that you did cheat on him . He find everything is your fault that you say and do . And this woman did go and married him and it just seems that he is looking for exuses to leave her. What must she do

It's been a few weeks. I'm trying to get forgiveness. I am truly repentant..I own all my blame. I've started going back to church But we have ups and downs and sometimes her mind goes into attack mode and just keeps attacking me.
I suggest couples therapy but she doesn't want to. I'm at a loss.
