The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said Saturday that approximately 55 "aerial projectiles" were fired at northern Israel from Hezbollah in Lebanon, sparking multiple fires across the region.
This comes after two days of negotiations over a ceasefire and hostage release deal that would call for a truce in the Gaza war, at least temporarily. President Joe Biden has reportedly said the talks were "promising" and he believes a deal can be reached by the end of next week.
US officials have said they will resume talks in Cairo in the coming week, as US Secretary of State Antony Blinken travels to the Middle East this weekend, scheduled to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Bibi" Netanyahu on Monday.
