To me this is just another monthly payment service, we really are moving to a "you'll own nothing and be happy" type of world.

So it's just an LCD TV with a Sky app built-in, or am I missing something?

At £849 for the 55" I'd pay the extra £250 and get an LG C1 instead. Screw Sky... no other subscription TV has adverts, and they should just release this software as a Sky app for existing smart TVs.

HDMI 2.1 but the panel is only 60hz. This is becoming a really annoying issue with a lot of tvs now🤦‍♂️

Sky doesn't have any Dolby Vision content so what's the point. Also you still have to pay £80+ for a Sky subscription on top of the cost of the tv.

Vinny, any chance you could do an analysis on Sky’s football in HDR? A lot of complaints on the forums about it being too dark for a high percentage of TV’s which is down to it being in HLG. This would probably be the case with the Sky Glass TV but I guess they could just stream in HDR10 like BT Sport do.

Trouble is Sky increase their co tract prices every year, so by the time that 48 month if tract has finished it will have seen 3 price increases and could be £59 a month in the last year.

I already have no cables from or to my 2016 tv, besides the power cable to use it.

what quality does the media library /vod in UK offer? In Germany Sky are them so poor in this aspect: No 24p Content, most content stereo and low bitrates.

Impressive. Great if you have good wifi but likely not so great if you don’t-I’m assuming that’s how it operates if there’s no sky dish / cable?

Vincent, why the hell do I need to buy a new TV to watch SKY? Why couldn't they just make SKY TV available to all smart tvs via an app? Like Netflix, Prime, Disney, Etcetera

I think this is a great move from Sky, for the average consumer this is a great all in one package. I hope this is the start of the end for the sky dish.

Hey Vincent. I wonder if you could make a video about ASBL issues on LG OLED TV’s. Particularly issues with ASBL dimming the screen during dark scenes making it even darker which ruins the viewing experience. Maybe talk about the Service remote ”fix” and if it voids the warranty or not.

Sky finally moving into IPTV in the UK is fantastic news, but this implementation is the exact opposite. If you thought lock-in was bad enough with their set top boxes, this takes it to a whole new level.

I know it was never going to happen, but a standard IPTV box that could work with other systems (like, maybe Plex?) would have been an immediate purchase from me, but I'm probably not the target market :)
