This is how I open stuff on WIndows.
1. Press Super (Windows) key
2. Start typing the name of what I want
3. Press enter when it comes up

Thank you, Chris. I haven't logged on to Windows in six months, but the need does arise. It is now a foreign land, and I appreciate having a tour guide. Very well done.

Microsoft starting to hide things like the Network Connections in favour of the Settings app is nuts.
I wouldn't mind using it is they had migrated all of the control panel functions over but they seem to be dragging their heels.

In windows 10 if you right click on the taskbar and click on search you can add show search box to it. Then inside that, (instead of using the run command) for User Access Control, all you need to do is type 'uac'. Just adding to Chris' already good presentation. Hope he doesn't mind!

This is an old video, but running ncpa.cpl is backwards. 3 clicks with your mouse and you're there. tapping the Win key and then start typing is usually just as good as using Win-R. Tap Win - they type prog and then hit enter, click top right and you're in the old programs window.

Hey, I'd like it if you always listed the commands or points you want to talk about in your description...since I really want to know if it's even relevant for me. And for you it's better if the person actually likes the video because it will not lead to tons of people skimming through it, lowering your "YouTube algorithm rating". :)

Instead of having to remember these funky command names a good number of these things can be accessed by just pressing the win key and typing what you need. For example if I want to change environment variables I just press the win key and start typing "envir" and by that point I usually have the option I am looking for at the top and I just press enter.

Great tips. Now if only the MSC snapins would remember their window size and position.

I never use Windows. I am watching this to improve my ability to help other people who do. I’ll stick to the Unix world myself

I‘m watching your videos for a few days now (specifically your Linux vids) and they are all so informative and entertaining ❤️ I‘m already afraid of the day I watched ˋem all :(

Dameware is a great utility for IT techs in the business environment. The best part is that it can remotely install the remote service in the target PC without having to go to it physically first. I really like Dameware. It costs some bucks but it's worth every penny for an IT tech.

I actually wrote a handy batch script I keep on my desktop so I can quickly change my IP to my static IP and DNS for each of my customers sites. LITERALLY BEST SCRIPT I HAVE EVER MADE! 😂

Chris, apparently in Windows 10 Pro Version 1909, they've done away with the Semi Annual Channel feature. Or at least I can't find it. Maybe it's there somewhere else. Thanks for this video btw.

one thing not everybody knows if you are in file manager, hold shift and rightclick and you can open powershell right in that folder. which is great if you have a script folder.
