Toyota's U.S. Sales Were Almost 50% Electrified In September

So far this year, Toyota has sold over 710,000 electrified vehicles, making up 41.1% of its total sales. This is a significant increase from last year, when electrified models represented just 27.9% of sales through the third quarter. Toyota's best-selling electrified models include the RAV4 Hybrid, with 152,328 units sold, and the Camry Hybrid, which saw a boost with around 122,000 units sold.

Toyota continues to focus on hybrids and plug-in hybrids, with only two fully electric models—the bZ4X and Lexus RZ—selling just under 21,958 units combined this year. Meanwhile, competitors like General Motors saw a 60% surge in EV sales in Q3, though they too are now exploring hybrid options as the EV market grows more slowly than expected.
