I can’t believe that there is someone carrying out cycling demonstrations in this video, and not wearing a helmet. The police in some areas stop cyclist and advise them to wear helmets.

I think the focus on wearing a helmet is overrated. It is true that a helmet make an accident less damaging to your head, but traffic would be much safer if there was proper infrastructure in the UK. The helmet discussion puts the blame for cycling fatalities on cyclists, while it's a poor car-centric infrastructure that's killing cyclists. I've also seen some cyclists wearing a helmet but having no lights on in the middle of the night; I don't have to say any more.

What an abysmal 'safety' video. Over 3000 cyclists seriously injured per annum, and around 100 killed every year, the No 1 issue is BEING SEEN, so say the police attending grisly accidents - 'I just didn't see him' is the most common first few words from motorists. So, anyone with a brain doesn't wear black or dark colours, even if it is trendy and looks good in the shop. And anyone who wants to keep their brain wears a lid. Both these things are common sense and IN THE HIGHWAY CODE FOR A REASON but the numpties at BC think that making cycling 'look cool' matters more. Third thing, ever hit the tarmac without gloves/mitts? Yes, it hurts.
