Galco brings you an exclusive interview about Eaton's BR and CH Load Centers. Ali talks details with McKayla Beam from Eaton. Specially designed for easy installation, Eaton's BR 1-inch load centers house the branch circuit breakers and the wiring required to distribute power to individual circuits. They serve as main breaker for service entrances or as main lug when adding circuits to existing service. The main breaker protects the entire panel and can be used as a service disconnect. The branch breakers protect the wires leading to individual electrical loads such as fixtures and outlets.

Excellent video - very informative and well presented by both hosts. Gave me a very good overview and enough detail for me to move forward in making my selection of a new load center which, given the info provided. will most likely be Eaton brand!

That's pretty awesome to have the option of less mess with no more pigtails. A neutral bar is a clever idea.

Best video I have seen that explains EATON panels and load centers, breaker differences and old vs new designs. Thank you. Now if I could just find a GFTCB220 breaker.

I have a question. If you are purchasing a new panel, how do you decide between CH or BR? Are there advantages to help decide? I love what Eaton has done with the new panel and would love to replace my old cutler hammer panel. Congratulations!!

If I have a pigtail neutral wire, on my CH breaker, can I still terminate it to the neutral bar even though it clips into the neutral bar?

This is an extremely helpful video and it explains a ton of things.

Anyone noticed that the BR series dual GFCI/AFCI breakers tend to run hot, even at low current draws? I was seeing surface temps of around 120F near the breaker handle in a room temp of about 70F. I used a rather high dollar FLIR IR camera designed for electrical thermography to record the temps. This seems pretty unusual to me. I worked on 2 separate 42 space panels that had at least 30 electronic breakers in each. The AFCI only ran about 100F, but those dual purpose breakers ran close to 120. Every one of them in both panels was pulling less than 3 amps when I took those temps.

So I have opted to go with the CHP60B200X9 since we have to run 12 mini-split 220v AC's here in Cabo. The Eaton catalog has CHPX9B under the "combination" column. That only pops up for indoor which I am doing. What is that? I'm pretty much winging it here in MX and my limited knowledge and code is pretty much out the window. No work permits, no code but it needs to be done right.

Will my old BR breakers fit in a new panel?

Why does every video show a Eaton representative shoving their index fingers into the bus bar when installing know there is no power but someone who doesn't know could get toasted

What is the big deal, don't you still need to connect to the neutral bus bar from the respective Romex wire circuit?

Great presentation. No need for the distracting dingling sound of the back ground music that just detracts from the presentation.

Thanks. But man that background music or whatever that noise was is nerve wracking.

Get rid of the loud damn music. I can't understand a word that they are saying. Not even worth watching.
