This channel is priceless. I'm painting cars and from you I have learned how to use body filler and do repairs. One thing I struggle with is damaged seams and connections on the body that are spot welded and habe rust. Have no clue how to approach these and if you have some time to explain this, I'd be grateful tons!

Question, if I have panels that are very wavy, not straight, and already 2-3 coats of paint and same clear coat, to make panels straight do I need to go to bare metal? Or do I use guide coat and skim coat body filler on whole panel??

Thats awesome how the dry guidecoat immediately shkwed all the ridges left by the spreader

Whats the lowest grit you can spray sealer over? Will it cover a 320 scratch?

Thanks for these videos. If the panel is curved how do you make sure you don't make a flat spot in the filler by doing a cross hatch sanding with a flat block

Say, off topic. What do you think about Eastwood's OEM select base coats? Or what do recommended for quality base? Thanks!

I definitely would have used s longer stiffer board than this and also used guide coats..that way you ensure you've not left any low spots or sand scratches

I work at a small body shop in Hawaii for five years and no matter how much times I tried I can’t get a panel perfectly straight with a da six inch sander. I came fairly close couple of times. 😊

Great tutorials as always. If you see a metal burn through how do you know if the metal is the high spot or the surrounding is the low spot? Would it be better to knock the high metal spots back down with a blend hammer instead of building up more coats of filler around it? Or is it too late at that stage and you have to add more putty because knocking down will cause cracks in the filler or something

Can you apply the filler on bare metal? I was under the impression a self etching primer is applied first and then filler

Back in the day the old timers had me use fiberglass resin still a good way to do it and have to spend $100 a gallon buying rage

I appreciate the videos. I have some small dime size dents that are difficult to get to the other side, should I just fill them or buy some sort of puller?

I have a question; does the plastik honey slow down the hardener time? I use the same filler as pictured and use a lot less hardener in mid 70 degree weather and I can barely spread on a couple of small spots and my filler is starting to set and I'm not spending time pissing around I'm on it right away.
