Specially designed Contour DSB Sandpaper has holes that align perfectly with the holes in the sanding blocks. The paper is available in seven standard grits from 40 to 400 and is specifically designed for dry sanding and getting the best finish in filler and primers. Those DSB are a great innovation! Wish I had those when I was blocking the body on my Mk1 VW Jetta. My garage (and my lungs) would've appreciated it!

I would probably run a cyclone separator in front of the shop vac. Works great when I am doing drywall work.

You applied filler over guidecoat…….I thought that it needed to be removed

I got the Mirka dustless sanding block - this video is spot-on, abs fantastic with no real dust to worry about. still find my old fashioned 3 foot big long Durablock is still better at quickly showing up subtle lows and getting long panels really straight. The 16" block somehow misses a lot of the detail. Sadly the old fashioned long block makes a hell of a lot of mess with dust.

Question. I thought my body work was good so I sprayed on the 2K urethane primer surfacer and it looks great but there are a few spots where my body work could have been better. Now what to do? Do I have to sand off the 2K, fix the spots with the contour body filler and respray the 2K or can I put the body filler over the 2K, sand it down to smooth and then respray the 2K over it and move onto by base?

How do you keep the filler from getting too hard on mixing plate before all filler is applied.
