There at least should be a covering near that part of the ship to prevent them from falling off at least but I'm no naval expert so I don't know if those changes will affect the ship

They need to have a catch bin for the shells so that they don't litter the ocean and to keep shells from rolling around the deck.😮

Isn't there supposed to be a rubber mat on the weather deck to prevent damage from the expended shell casings?
