there’s something really chilling about knowing that mozart composed this piece as he was on his deathbed.

These are Mozart's last notes. During the Lacrimosa, Mozart's handwriting broke. One can actually hear and feel that great soul's farewell when listening... and eternity shimmers from afar.

Anyone who hasn’t sung the Mozart Requiem has no idea of how challenging it is to sing and his Chorus as a Solo Quartet!

Alto melody is really precious even when many people prefers to hear soprano voice.

My wife's many year church choir director - a truly gifted man kind've at Mozart's level - used to say: "Beethoven sometimes reaches to the heavens. Mozart lives there." This choir director had music in his DNA. I saw him direct a church choir and a bell-choir that accompanied it but one person had not showed up so he played that person's bells too WHILE he directed the entire choir. So he was directing the musicians AND the bell choir AND the many-person singing choir AND played one set of bells for good measure. Spectators were shaking their head in amazement as to what was a miracle. I imagined what it must have been like to witness Mozart.

Wow. By only having one singer per part, one can really appreciate the inner voices in this :) Wonderful.

I love how you can hear *everyone*. As opposed to one blaring soprano and bass and a bunch of mumbling tenors who don't care and altos trying so hard to be heard... (distressed alto noises) Anyways, enough complaining about a high school chorus. This is lovely, and that's all that matters.

I was not expecting to like this, as I love a full orchestral accompaniment, but this was truly beautiful! You can hear the purity of the voices, and the subtle harmonizing of the singers. Well done!

Goosebumps! I prefer this ensemble to a large choir. The sound is so pure! These acoustics are fabulous!

I've watched other choirs and the thing I love is that the soprano doesn't use vibrato at 0:48.
