I never question or get mad when creators take breaks. It's your life. I enjoy the new videos when they're uploaded, and if not, I have my own life. I don't have time to question another adult about theirs.

Abby, the fact that you think the rest of us are ok or functioning correctly is wild 😜

I see so many YouTubers profusely apologizing for not uploading videos on a regular basis when they are sick or on vacation or whatever reason they choose to take a break. I get that you really want to be consistent, but you really don’t owe any of us an explanation if you’re not. While I do enjoy your life update videos, please know just because you’re on YouTube it doesn’t mean you have to reveal every or any part of your private life if you don’t want to. 💜

My 20s were a depression and anxiety 'lost decade.' You've at least built up all of this and become an expert on something that helps people. I stopped anti-depressants at 31 and moved overseas for a year to live on a tropical island and let it all drain away. That was the reset I needed and I went on to create an amazing life that I absolutely love. Good on your for making the change and being willing to try new things towards feeling and living the way you want.

Love your honesty!! I’m a family medicine physician and I see sooo many people struggle with anxiety & depression. I wish more people were forthcoming to help others feel heard!

I’m a therapist and it doesn’t surprise me to hear your difficulties in finding someone competent in illness anxiety. I guess you could say illness anxiety is a relatively “newer” diagnosis and if you’re a woman with anxiety of any kind, it’s hard enough to find good treatment. Unfortunately I can vouch for the fact that most therapists are just throwing spaghetti at the wall and seeing what sticks, but happy to hear you were wise enough to know what wasn’t helpful and sought other kinds of help! Take care of yourself!

My 20s were not a carefree time. I was stressed and struggling. I think it is common, but not discussed.

I’m a counsellor based in Aus and I work with some clients who experience health anxiety. I don’t have years of experience under my belt and definitely need to do more professional development in this area. However I was glad to see you linked the CCI resources which is what I often refer back to! They definitely have some detailed resources and exercises available. I also love that you didn’t demonise medication even though you experienced some side effects and some difficulties in tapering off. They can be a real saving grace for when your nervous system is too far gone to implement therapeutic strategies, and certainly have their place.

Tapering off of an antidepressant is such a process. I completely understand

Abbey, I often marvel at the amount of work and organization that goes into your videos! I don't think your viewers would ever think you're lazy for missing an upload, and I also think most people, myself included, are not keeping track. Don't stress over that. We appreciate you!

As someone who experienced depersonalization and derealization as a teen (now 30-years-old and much improved), I am so thankful you are using your platform to talk about this. I didn't have the words for it then, and "beauty gurus" of the 2010's were my stress relief and guides to making it through high school. I bet you're helping others find the words for it now. Thank you for making people feel less alone. <3

I have never commented on a YouTube channel until today. I have been dealing with health anxiety for 5 years now. Although I have such an amazing support system with friends and family, I have never felt so alone. There are a lot of people with anxiety but I have never met someone with health anxiety and while I don’t ever want to minimize someone else’s anxiety, fearing that you have an illness and you’re going to die is on another level lol. Anyway, I comment all this to say, thank you. Thank you for sharing your journey. It’s so not easy and honestly, for me, embarrassing to talk about. I was literally stunned, I actually started crying lol when you said the words “health anxiety”. I finally wasn’t alone. I’ve also started YouTubing other peoples experiences (don’t know why I never thought to do that) and it’s been so helpful. Thank you!

You don’t have to apologize or explain yourself for not uploading. There’s life bigger and outside of this. People will get over it, it’s YouTube. No one needs uploads to survive. You are your priority over anything else so don’t apologize

What you were experiencing in your feet and legs is called “RLS” or restless leg syndrome and it can last months with withdrawal. Magnesium helps a lot. It’s a HORRIBLE feeling. You are a STRONGGGG WOMAN. Congrats on your accomplishments, you should be super proud of yourself.

I'm always stunned when a YouTuber feels the need to explain where they've been or why they haven't uploaded. I can't speak for everyone, but Youtube is entertainment, I dont go crazy if I can't watch some other form of entertainment. You're a human, that has the same stressors, mental health challenges, life events, etc. As the rest of us. You owe us nothing, we should be glad for the moments you do share with us, but there is no obligation. Be kind to yourself. People can be assh0les, but the normal people of the world have no expectations, and we want you to be well. Take care of you 🌿 xx

As someone who is 46, each decade gets better. Let’s be honest, the teenage years suck with all the hormone changes and trying to become your own person. In your 20s you’re trying to find your place in the world. Transitioning to an adult is not easy. In your 30s, it will continue to get better because you know who you are and what you’re capable of doing. In your 40s, it’s even more pronounced. I’m way past the point of looking for validation outside of me and that alone has been life changing.

This is not exactly the same as what you’re describing, but during this process you’re learning more about yourself and where your limits exist. We all have them. Embrace those limits. They exist for your own well being.
