Scoot flight landing delayed after passengers refused to fasten seatbelts

A Scoot passenger plane flying from Bali had its landing in Singapore delayed on Monday (Nov 14) because a group of passengers refused to fasten their seatbelts during the aircraft's descent.

The "unruly behaviour" of these passengers meant that the captain of flight TR285 "discontinued the approach" into Singapore for safety reasons, the airline said in a statement on Tuesday.

To me, the captain sounded like a barrack room lawyer. If he'd simply explained very quickly the three primary reasons why there are (aviation related) laws requiring the fastening of seat belts during take-off and landing it is likely that most people on board (if not all) would have fully comprehended just WHY. It's likely that if he'd done this, ALL of the passengers would have complied.
