Why Toy Story 4 Is the WORST One - NitPix

It's time to tackle one of my most recommended films to review this week. That's right! Hate Story 4!

Disney and Pixar have been pulling on our heart strings ever since the first Toy Story (1995). We remember Toy Story 2 (1999) and Toy Story 3 (2010) with fondness for the warm fuzzy feeling of our childhood. But now we're grown up and it's sad for me to say, the nostalgia is running out.

Woody is weak, Buzz Lightyear is dumber and Bo Peep is an entirely different character. But maybe I'm just thinking of Caroline too much. Anyone know how I can get her back?

My issue with 4 was that they benched most of the characters for the whole movie. Jessie and the rest sat in the van the whole time.

my problems with toy story 4
1. completely unnecessary considering how 3 ended
2. buzz's character was dumbed down way too much
3. made bonnie really unlikable

While the first 3 movies were about the importance of family, this last one felt like it was saying:
"just kidding, family doesn't matter and they'll throw you away the first chance they get; so you should do the same"

Can writers stop thinking that "Well written Strong female character = Active tough badass".
When people say they want a well written woman, they're not saying they want all women to be fighters or sword wielders, they just want them to be interesting and have a good personality and sometimes that can come from a timid and feminine character! There's nothing wrong with femininity, hell theres not even anything weak about it either. A woman doesn't have to be written as "one of the guys", but as a character.

Toy Story 4 had a good animation and all, but it doesn't feel memorable at all. Like you said, there were barely any stakes, characters seemed so out of character or pandering to a modern audience, and TS3 already ended on such a perfect note.

They completely ruined Buzz. He went from the intelligent partner to the dummy that is used for laughs.

I felt nothing in that final goodbye scene because of this and I still don’t know how people are blind to this.

I didn’t mind Toy Story 4, but 3 was the perfect way to end the story. Didn’t like Woody leaving in 4, it goes against everything we knew Woody to stand for (loyalty, friendship).

I remember being so confused by the fact that buzz doesn’t even know what a conscious is, like does he not have one or is he just not aware of the term?

Yeah. I preferred Toy Story 3 as a way to end the franchise

Drastically changing character personalities and writing a sad ending doesn’t make it “deep, ” it’s makes it lazy.

On the surface ToyStory4 was inoffensive, fun, and gorgeous to look at. But when you start digging a bit deeper at the characters, the themes, and the story it all kinda gets muddled and messy.

My biggest problems with the movie were the complete regression of Buzz and Woody's character developments, the idea that the lost Toy life was so great without ever actually showing why it is great (in fact most of the lost toys actually seem sad and unfulfilled because they don't have a personal kid to love), and the complete disregard for the themes (of friendship, unconditional love, and coming to terms with mortality) built up in the previous three films.

Moral Time:

Toy Story 1: Even if you’re not number one, there’s always room for love

Toy Story 2: Even if love is temporary, it is still worth experiencing

Toy Story 3: Even if you have to let go of something, you will always have somebody to always love you
