Brother John completely overlooked the fact that "this" is also singular which means it can't be applied to each "grace", "saved" and "faith" individually. He starts on the correct path by saying it's "the whole package" but then quietly slides back into the idea that it also applies to each part individually. This is a misreading of the text motivated by trying to read a pet doctrine into the text that isn't there.

True faith can only come from God. Being exercised by those who are of God in the trials and temptations of this life as God takes us safely through the storm. True faith in God sustains us in God and can only come from God.

Formerly I believed that I was responsible for my salvation but I knew it was like mixing a cake on a hogs back, everything about my efforts were corrupt and if I were going to be saved it was by sheer dumb luck. Thank you for this reminder of the true Gospel.

Thank you pastor for this sound exposition of our Father's word, that people, even believers, are now coming to avoid - trading sound doctrinal teaching for gossip, silly feuds and debates and the exposition of spiritual experiences like dreams and feelings.

I am still relatively young, and it is amazing to see the manifestations of the scripture right in front of me daily. Never did I imagine it would progress so quickly. Even so come Lord Jesus...

Pharaoh is a great example of how God is able to give faith or take faith.

*Exodus 4:21* The Lord said to Moses, “When you go back to Egypt see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders which I have put in your power; but I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go.

I bind myself to faith to believe bad situations can turn into a good situation, in accordance with ephesians 2:8-10, 2 corinthians 6:14-15, matthew 6:24, 1 john 3:10, while loosening myself of every unequal yoke and common share with those not believing something bad can change into something good, in the name and blood of Jesus Christ, amen and hallelujah!

Thnx and praise be to God .. for making this clear. I am amazed Pastor John at the gift given to you by God. You truly made this clear.
My anology is as follows: I am saved by - by (water from mountains) you have been saved. and then again the same thing.. it is obviuos that the water of the mountain can never be from us..Hence for faith ie ( drinking the water... which can be perceived as a work)...Paul has to add ...( and this "drinking of water" is not of you but a gift from God)...Now even 2 Corinthians 2 seems so logical to me...for some ..this water is life.. and for some the same water is POISON!!... they simply cant see that its WATER!!!....Now Ephisians 1 makes complete sense.... Our eyes of the heart are enlightened...to see that the same water that we despised as sewage .. is actually life giving Water...and hence we repent ...like crazy...and now the sparkling mineral water becomes sewage for us.... but for the World its the opposite !!!

Faith is a resistible gift of God offered to everyone due to grace after Christ draws and convicts all people. [John 12:32] He who keeps this gift is eternally secure [Ephesians 1:14] unless he personally throws it away [Hebrews 6:4], like walking out of an invincible and eternally safe castle, allowed because God being love doesn't force Himself [1 Corinthians 13:5].

The whole point of these verses is to contrast faith and works. We receive God's grace (salvation) through faith so that we can't boast about earning it through works. The two are not the same. A believer can boast, but only about Christ (1 Corinthians 1:31)

It's really pretty simple, but Calvinism likes to complicate just about everything
